Conversation: Josef Helfenstein and Franklin Sirmans - Twentieth-Century Art at the Menil Collection
Menil Collection
1515 Sul Ross Houston, TX 77006
7:00PM
February 5, 2010

With the return of the six rooms of museum’s twentieth-century galleries to the building’s east end, four of those rooms remain focused on American artists long associated with the Menil: Johns, Newman, Rothko, Rauschenberg, and Warhol. Two other galleries revisit the work of Robert Gober, David Novros, Brice Marden, and Robert Mangold. Museum Director Josef Helfenstein and Franklin Sirmans (formerly at Menil and now curator of contemporary art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art) will discuss the Menil’s current presentation of the art of the previous century.

Free Event; 7:00PM. Menil Collection
